Last Minute May Half Term Family Holidays

So this really is the season for bank holidays! With the good weather recently I’ve been starting to think that maybe we should get away soon. I’ve been spending my days looking at where to go for half-term, with holidaydaddy having already booked the days off from work, the pressure is on to find the right place at the right price, and that means trawling all the different possible discount holiday websites, from www.expedia.co.uk to www.lowcostholidays.co.uk to www.thomson.co.uk and back again!

When you’re looking for that last minute break, what is important to you? Is it cost? Location? Facilities? For us, it’s a mixture of each. We want a champagne holiday on a lemonade budget. And, it has to be somewhere interesting. Or new. With access to great restaurants. Oh, and let’s not forget a good kids club.

At the moment I am skimming around the package holiday websites in an effort to build the perfect break – so over the next few days I thought I would list my top five selections for May half term:

  1. The first place I fancy is the Abama in Tenerife. We went there back in August, and it has been one of the few places that’s ever made me think – to quote Arnie – ‘I’ll be back’. A beautiful hotel, set on a golf course, with it’s own white sandy beach, fantastic kids club, and lots of great activities. Rooms are light and spacious, and part of me thinks that maybe we should think about a return visit. But is it too soon?

I will update you on numbers 2 to 5 over the next week.
